Chicago-Area Official Convicted On Criminal Tax Charges

Law360, Chicago (March 21, 2013, 7:50 PM EDT) -- Cook County Commissioner William Beavers was convicted Thursday of three counts of filing false tax returns and one count of attempted obstruction in the government's case accusing the Illinois politician of failing to pay taxes on campaign funds he allegedly used for gambling and other personal purposes.
