Cisco Presses Fed. Circ. To Revive TR Labs Patent Suit

Law360, Washington (April 2, 2013, 7:13 PM EDT) -- Cisco Systems Inc. urged the Federal Circuit on Tuesday to resurrect its lawsuit against Alberta Telecommunications Research Centre seeking to shield AT&T Inc. and other corporate customers from network technology infringement suits, saying the Canadian nonprofit's fight lies with Cisco rather than its clients.

While Alberta Telecommunications, also known as TR Labs, has sued 14 of Cisco's corporate customers for using networking solutions and Cisco routers to infringe eight TR Labs patents, Cisco maintained the litigation should be between itself and the research center.
