Westfield, O'Connor Capital Form $1.28B Mall Venture

Law360, New York (March 25, 2013, 1:36 PM EDT) -- The Westfield Group and private equity firm O'Connor Capital Partners have teamed up on a $1.28 billion joint venture encompassing six Florida-based malls, Westfield announced Monday, in yet another deal that rejiggers the shopping center company's portfolio.

Per the agreement,  Australia-headquartered developer and manager Westfield Group will hold a 49.9 percent stake in the new company and will continue on as the property, leasing and development manager for the malls, which are all owned by the group, it said.
