Deals Rumor Mill: Allianz, Samsonite, Exxon

Law360, New York (March 25, 2013, 5:41 PM EDT) -- German financial services company Allianz SE will scoop up the core insurance business of Turkish insurer Yapi Kredi Sigorta AS, plus a majority stake in its pension unit, in a $1.2 billion deal, sources told Reuters on Monday. Yapi Kredi Sigorta is a division of Yapi Kredi Bank, one of Turkey's largest private banks, and will give Allianz further reach into Turkey, an increasingly sought-after market.
