Duane Reade Skirts $7M Kasowitz Fee Suit In NY High Court

Law360, New York (March 26, 2013, 2:55 PM EDT) -- New York's highest court on Tuesday put to bed Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP's $7.1 million breach of contract suit against Duane Reade Inc. over a legal fee arrangement, affirming lower courts that ruled the drugstore chain met its obligations.

The New York State Court of Appeals' unanimous decision affirmed the majority of a mid-level New York City appellate court, which in August ruled 3-2 in favor of Duane Reade. The two-judge dissent triggered the high court's involvement.
