Calif. Oil Spill Cleanup To Push $61M Limit

Law360, New York (December 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Cleanup costs for last month's massive oil spill in San Francisco Bay are set to exceed the $61 million federal insurance liability limit, the U.S. Coast Guard told lawmakers on Tuesday.

Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard Adm. Thad W. Allan testified at a Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation subcommittee hearing on the threats, risks and vulnerabilities of oil spills from non-tank vessels on Tuesday.
