JPMorgan's $546M Deal For Ex-MF Global Customers Gets Nod

Law360, Los Angeles (March 28, 2013, 8:25 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday preliminarily approved a settlement in which JPMorgan Chase Bank NA agreed to free up more than $546 million to be distributed to former U.S. customers of MF Global Inc., resolving all outstanding issues between the bank and the collapsed broker-dealer.

The judge’s order comes a week after JPMorgan agreed to fork over $100 million and release liens and setoff rights related to $417 million it previously returned to MFGI’s estate, making them available for distribution to customers and creditors....
