UPS To Fork Over $40M To End Online Pharmacy Probe

Law360, New York (March 29, 2013, 4:42 PM EDT) -- United Parcel Service Inc. on Friday agreed to forfeit $40 million over payments it received from illegal online pharmacies as part of a settlement with federal prosecutors that shields the shipping company from criminal charges. 

Georgia-based UPS signed a nonprosecution agreement in which the company acknowledged responsibility for accepting the ill-gotten funds and agreed to implement a compliance program to ensure that illegal online pharmacies will not be able to use UPS services to ship controlled substances and prescription drugs in the future, said U.S. Attorney...
