Obama Touts Plan To Encourage Infrastructure Investments

Law360, Los Angeles (March 29, 2013, 7:32 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama on Friday announced a new plan to encourage private investment in America’s public infrastructure, calling for Congress to form a National Infrastructure Bank, capitalized with $10 billion, that will leverage private and public capital to invest in infrastructure projects, without earmarks.

The series of proposals, labeled the “Rebuild America Partnership,” include the formation of an independent National Infrastructure Bank, the implementation of a new “America Fast Forward” bonds program and additional funding for the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act program.
