Panasonic In-Flight Entertainment Unit Facing FCPA Probe

Law360, New York (April 1, 2013, 4:13 PM EDT) -- A unit of Panasonic Corp. that makes in-flight entertainment systems for airlines is under investigation by U.S. government authorities for possible violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, according to a Monday news report.

The government issued a so-called retention notice to Panasonic Avionics Corp., referred to as PAC, on Jan. 20 that asked the subsidiary to preserve documents that could indicate whether employees paid bribes overseas to secure business, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing internal company documents.
