Coca-Cola Bottler Hit With Overtime Suit

Law360, New York (April 1, 2013, 4:14 PM EDT) -- The bottling and distributing unit of The Coca-Cola Co. was hit Friday with a proposed collective action in Florida federal court launched by an employee claiming the beverage giant denied him overtime pay in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Harold Plemmons, a Coca-Cola merchandiser who says his duties included maintaining store shelves and cleaning backroom stock for retail vendors, claims Coca-Cola Refreshments USA Inc. denied him time-and-a-half pay for hours he worked in excess of 40 hours a week since July.
