J&J Must Face Tylenol Liver Damage MDL In Pa.

Law360, New York (April 1, 2013, 6:16 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Monday centralized in Pennsylvania’s Eastern District 27 lawsuits alleging that acetaminophen in various Tylenol products was responsible for users’ severe liver damage.

The decision marks a loss for the defendants, most prominently Johnson & Johnson Inc., that opposed centralization. But the company, along with Perrigo Inc., had conceded that if the litigation was to be consolidated, it should be moved to Pennsylvania.
