NJ Gov. Vetoes Intern Tax Credit Bill

Law360, New York (April 1, 2013, 7:21 PM EDT) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Monday conditionally vetoed legislation that would have provided tax credits to employers for wages that they pay to student interns, questioning whether the measure would actually spur full-time jobs.

The governor said in his veto message that the Democrat-controlled Legislature, which gave final approval to the measure in February, offered no data to show that this kind of tax credit would truly lead to more long-term employment opportunities.
