Hedge Funder Gets February Date For Showdown With SEC

Law360, New York (April 2, 2013, 9:04 PM EDT) -- Nelson Obus, a hedge fund manager who beat a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission $1.3 million insider trading case only to have it revived by the Second Circuit, will face a new trial in February, a federal judge said Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge George Daniels set Feb. 25 as the date a trial will start against Obus, the head of Wynnefield Capital Inc., and the two co-accused, Wynnefield’s Peter Black and Thomas Strickland, an analyst at finance company General Electric Capital.
