Atty Admits To Insider Trading In IBM Case

Law360, New York (April 3, 2013, 6:57 PM EDT) -- Thomas C. Conradt, a lawyer-turned-broker accused of insider trading ahead of a 2009 IBM Corp. acquisition, pled guilty Wednesday in New York federal court to securities fraud.

Conradt, 35, said he traded ahead of IBM’s purchase of software company SPSS Inc. after receiving a tip from his roommate at the time. He entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter.

Prosecutors say Conradt, a law school graduate who worked as a retail broker at Westport, Conn.-based Euro Pacific Capital Inc., was part of a group...
