VirnetX Says Cisco's Jury Confusion Entitles It To New IP Trial

Law360, New York (April 3, 2013, 4:49 PM EDT) -- Nevada-based Internet security firm VirnetX Inc. on Wednesday sought a new trial after a jury quashed its $258 million claims that Cisco Systems Inc. infringed its communications network patents, saying Cisco's "campaign of confusion" addled the jury.

In a new trial motion filed in Texas federal court, VirnetX accused Cisco of confusing the jury with manipulative legal arguments and of "adulterating" the court's instructions and claim constructions.
