Zynga Ends 'Mafiaville' Trademark Suit Against Imagenesis

Law360, Los Angeles (April 3, 2013, 7:24 PM EDT) -- “FarmVille” developer Zynga Inc. asked a Maryland federal judge Wednesday to approve a consent judgment it reached with Imagenesis Corp. in Zynga's lawsuit accusing Imagenesis of infringing trademarks for the plaintiff's popular “Ville” themed games with the defendant's “MafiaVille."

Approval would end the suit, which alleged that “MafiaVille” infringes numerous marks for a host of Zynga games, including “CityVille,” “PetVille” and “FrontierVille,” which users associate with Zynga, according to court documents.

Under the agreement, Imagenesis and its employees would also be permanently enjoined from using “MafiaVille”...
