Purdue Targets Dr. Reddy's In Growing Sleep-Aid Patent Blitz

Law360, New York (April 4, 2013, 2:19 PM EDT) -- Purdue Pharma LP on Tuesday widened its war against generic versions of insomnia drug Intermezzo, suing Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. in New Jersey federal court for alleged patent infringement in what is at least the sixth such complaint the company has launched.

The suit involves three patents held by Transcept Pharmaceuticals Inc. and exclusively licensed to Purdue for an under-the-tongue sleep aid that targets middle-of-the-night awakenings.
