Electronics Group Wants Laws To Curb Patent Trolls

Law360, New York (April 4, 2013, 6:39 PM EDT) -- A consumer electronics trade association plans to tell federal antitrust regulators that so-called patent trolls must be reined in through new legislation and other means that would mitigate the risks they pose to innovation in the U.S., according to comments released Thursday.

The Consumer Electronics Association said in comments bound for the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division and Federal Trade Commission that more should be done to counteract the actions of "patent assertion entities," also referred to as patent trolls.
