Security Co. Blasts Lilly Insurer's $80M Drug Theft Suit

Law360, New York (April 5, 2013, 2:22 PM EDT) -- A Tyco International Ltd. Co. subsidiary said Thursday that a lawsuit filed by National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa. that alleges Tyco’s security system was to blame for an $80 million Eli Lilly & Co. pharmaceuticals theft must fail because the insurer is barred from suing.

Tyco Integrated Security LLC said the insurer, which alleged Tyco failed to safeguard a confidential security system evaluation that was exploited by burglars in the theft, has no right to bring the subrogation lawsuit it filed last month...
