Scottsdale Owes Wrinkle Treatment Injury Defense, Coapt Says

Law360, New York (April 8, 2013, 4:11 PM EDT) -- Medical device maker Coapt Systems Inc. told a California federal judge on Friday that Scottsdale Insurance Co. must fund the company's defense of 21 suits over allegedly defective wrinkle-reducting skin fillers because they include allegations beyond claims for bodily injury.

Scottsdale cannot rely on the bodily injury exclusion in Coapt's insurance policy as a way to avoid paying defense costs, because the company and its directors and officers face fraudulent transfer and financial loss claims for which that exclusion couldn't possibly apply, according to Coapt's motion...
