NRG Energy Shells Out $244M For Texas Plant

Law360, New York (April 8, 2013, 12:42 PM EDT) -- NRG Energy Inc. said Monday it had entered into an agreement with affiliates of Atlantic Power Corp., John Hancock Life Insurance Co. and Rockland Capital LLC to purchase a cogeneration plant in Corpus Christi, Texas, for about $244 million.

NRG said the plant, known as the Gregory project, is equivalent to an approximately 560-megawatt combined cycle gas turbine plant with generation capacity of approximately 400 nominal megawatts and steam capacity of more than 1 million pounds per hour, or the equivalent of 160 megawatts of electricity....
