AstraZeneca Slams Seroquel Special Master's Report

Law360, New York (January 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca LP has fired back at a special master's allegations that “mismanagement and inadequate oversight” by the company have slowed the progress of litigation over the company's blockbuster drug Seroquel, calling the special master's tone inappropriate for a court-appointed officer.

Filing an objection to the third status report on Wednesday, the drug maker accused special master Craig Ball of “numerous factual inaccuracies and misstatements of law” and asked the judge overseeing the multidistrict product liability litigation to disregard it.
