HHS Wants Florida To Repay $2.3M In Medicaid Overpayments

Law360, New York (April 8, 2013, 6:56 PM EDT) -- Federal regulators on Friday accused the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration of failing to collect $19.8 million in Medicaid overpayments between July 2007 and June 2010, and asked the state agency to repay $2.3 million of that amount.

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General said in a report that the collection failure occurred because of a lack of coordination between the state agency and HHS, which is responsible for determining overpayments, meaning Florida had no knowledge of the overpayments...
