Sister Of Jailed Insider Trader Nguyen Settles SEC Suit

Law360, New York (April 8, 2013, 6:09 PM EDT) -- Former Abaxis Inc. employee ThanhHa Bao on Monday agreed to pay about $145,000 to settle a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission suit alleging she passed inside information about the biotechnology firm to her brother, now-imprisoned expert networking consultant Tai Nguyen.

The SEC filed an amended complaint in its suit against Nguyen that added Bao as a defendant. She agreed to immediately settle the claims and will be barred from serving as an officer or director of a public company for five years, the SEC said....
