Trial Over Illegal Funds For NYC Comptroller Starts Next Week

Law360, New York (April 9, 2013, 7:18 PM EDT) -- A delayed criminal trial against two defendants accused of funneling illegal donations to the campaign of New York City Comptroller John Liu will go forward next week, a federal judge confirmed Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan indicated that jury selection in the trial of Xu Wing “Oliver” Pan, an alleged fundraiser for Liu, and Jia “Jenny” Hou, Liu’s former campaign treasurer, will begin April 15 in Manhattan federal court. The trial had been put off because of Pan’s health.
