UnitedHealth Hit With $500M Punitives Verdict In Hep C Case

Law360, Los Angeles (April 9, 2013, 10:26 PM EDT) -- Two United HealthCare Services Inc. units must pay $500 million in punitive damages for negligently failing to monitor a doctor responsible for a hepatitis C outbreak that infected the two plaintiffs in the case, a jury decided late Tuesday in Nevada state court.
