Pa. High Court Nixes Ex-Philly Official's Defamation Appeal

Law360, New York (April 9, 2013, 7:38 PM EDT) -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to reopen a defamation suit accusing former Philadelphia Mayor John Street of saying in a television interview that the former director of the Philadelphia Housing Authority “lied about everything” at the agency.  

The high court denied Carl R. Greene's request to appeal a lower court decision in a one-sentence order and did not provide additional reasoning for its decision.

Attorneys for both parties did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday.
