Bankrupt Pemco Settles Workers' WARN Act Suit

Law360, New York (April 10, 2013, 2:43 PM EDT) -- Bankrupt aircraft parts and maintenance company Pemco World Air Services Inc. agreed Tuesday to pay nearly $375,000 to the roughly 500 workers who say they were laid off in August without adequate notice.

Pemco was hit with a suit over the terminations Aug. 3, the same day it let go of 494 employees at its Tampa, Fla., facilities, with the workers claiming they didn't receive the 50 days notice of layoffs required by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
