DOL Wants More Money To Fight Violations, Misclassification

Law360, New York (April 10, 2013, 7:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor said Wednesday it would ask for more money to combat violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and other labor laws, as well as to fight the misclassification of workers.

In the department's proposed 2014 budget, DOL said its Wage and Hour Division, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Mine Safety and Health Administration would all see bumps in funding aimed at beefing up their ability to enforce the nation's labor laws on behalf of workers....
