Yahoo Text-Spams Recycled Numbers, Suit Says

Law360, New York (April 10, 2013, 2:21 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania consumer on Wednesday launched a putative class action accusing Yahoo Inc. of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by text-spamming consumers with recycled phone numbers and failing to provide an effective opt-out method.

Bill Dominguez says the company sent dozens of automated Yahoo Alert texts per day to his new phone in violation of the TCPA and refused to halt the unwanted messaging because the alerts were set up by the previous owner of his number.
