Actress Loses Suit Against IMDb For Revealing Age

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 3:08 PM EDT) -- In a case that highlighted the sensitive subject of age in the entertainment business, a Washington State federal jury found Thursday that IMDb.com did not breach its subscriber agreement by publishing the age of an actress on her profile page.

Huong Hoang, 41, who uses the stage name Junie Hoang, claimed her career prospects dried up after the popular entertainment website disclosed her date of birth, but the jury returned a verdict for the defense after a two-day trial. She initially sued the site — which she has called “the bible of the industry” — anonymously, seeking $1 million in damages....
