Arris' $2B Motorola Home Buy Gets DOJ Approval

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 3:13 PM EDT) -- Arris Group Inc. has secured antitrust clearance in the U.S. for its proposed $2.35 billion purchase of Google Inc.'s Motorola Home unit, Arris said Friday.

The U.S. Department of Justice has cleared the planned acquisition after conducting a review of the deal, which was announced in December, Arris said in a statement. With the antitrust clearance, Arris has received all the necessary regulatory approvals, or the relevant waiting periods have expired, and the company expects to close the purchase sometime around Wednesday.
