Sweeping NYC Credit Check Ban Bill Worries Defense Bar

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 6:45 PM EDT) -- A New York City bill that would ban employers from using credit checks to evaluate prospective employees goes far beyond laws enacted in other jurisdictions and ignores the reality that some employees, especially those in the city's sprawling investment banking sector, should be vetted for their finances, attorneys said Friday.
