La. Appeals Court Resurrects Exxon Legal Fee Fight

Law360, New York (April 12, 2013, 7:01 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana appeals court on Thursday revived a legal fees battle between plaintiffs lawyers in a class action against Exxon Mobil Corp., ruling that an attorney who formed a joint venture with litigators representing alleged radiation exposure victims may still be entitled to funds.

The decision allows attorney Robert L. Manard III of Robert L. Manard III PLC, who never actually represented plaintiffs in the suit, to pursue breach of contract, unjust enrichment and quantum meruit claims against Timothy J. Falcon of Falcon Law Firm PLC...
