Attys Gripe At Vioxx Deal's All-Or-Nobody Provision

Law360, New York (January 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The firms that represent 2,600 Vioxx plaintiffs are contesting a provision in Merck & Co.'s settlement deal that prohibits lawyers from advising their individual clients differently on whether to accept or reject the $4.85 billion payout.

A handful of Missouri- and Illinois-based firms, among them Carey & Danis LLC, the Lowe Law Firm, Schaeffer & Lamere and Evan Buxner of the Walther Glenn Law Firm, filed their challenge on Thursday.
