Insurer Fights Covering Full $24M Daycare Sex Abuse Deal

Law360, New York (April 15, 2013, 7:08 PM EDT) -- Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Co. asked a federal judge in Washington state Thursday to rule that it should chip in only $1 million toward a daycare center's $24.5 million settlement of claims that its former employee sexually molested children.

The coverage case concerns six lawsuits that accused Olympia Early Learning Center or its directors of negligent hiring and monitoring of onetime employee Elisha Tabor as well as negligent supervision of the children.
