Claims Adjusters' FLSA Complaint Crashes

Law360, New York (January 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed a ruling granting summary judgment to CC Services Inc., which contracts with insurance companies to provide claims processing, in a case brought on behalf of four classes of claims adjusters who asserted they wereimproperly classified as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act's overtime provisions.

Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit handed down a ruling upholding the trial court's 2006 decision, and ruling that the claims adjusters fell under the FLSA's administrative exemption.
