EU Readies Market Test On Google Search Bias Settlement

Law360, New York (April 15, 2013, 7:09 PM EDT) -- The European Commission is preparing to open Google Inc.'s proposed antitrust settlement to feedback from the Internet giant's rivals and others as the company tries to put an end to the watchdog's two-year-old search bias probe.

Google submitted its detailed settlement proposal to the antitrust watchdog in late January, and the agency has done its preliminary assessment of that offer over the last few weeks in order to formally lay out its concerns, EC competition spokesman Antoine Colombani said Monday.
