Riddell Hit With $3M Verdict Over High School Player's Injury

Law360, New York (April 15, 2013, 5:51 PM EDT) -- A Colorado jury leveled helmet maker Riddell Inc. with a $3.1 million verdict Saturday in a lawsuit brought by a high school football player who allegedly suffered permanent brain damage as a result of a concussion.

The jury found that Riddell failed to adequately warn plaintiff Rhett Ridolfi about the risks of concussion. It determined that the helmet was not defectively designed, however.
