DuPont, Texas City Pay $1M For Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (April 18, 2013, 2:27 PM EDT) -- DuPont Co., Phillips 66 Co., the city of Port Arthur, Texas, and others on Wednesday agreed to pay the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency $1 million to settle claims stemming from the cleanup of a Superfund site.

The EPA and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality had asserted claims under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act and the Texas Solid Waste Disposal Act for the recovery of response costs incurred in response to releases and threatened releases of hazardous substances from the State Marine Superfund...
