Pa. Website Operator Not Entitled To $1.7M, Rep. Argues

Law360, Philadelphia (April 18, 2013, 4:34 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state representative on Monday continued his attack on a no-bid contract awarded to a private operator of the state's Web portal, asking state Treasurer Rob McCord to halt $1.7 million in payments to NICUSA Inc.

Rep. Rob Matzie, D-Beaver/Allegheny, pointed to newly uncovered documents suggesting that the contract was awarded specifically because the arrangement would incur no new costs to the state. He then argued that no payments should be made to the vendor until further investigation.
