Oil Co. Pushes Texas High Court For Release Of Exxon Docs

Law360, Houston (April 18, 2013, 5:26 PM EDT) -- An oil and gas developer that agreed to indemnify Exxon Mobil Corp. for multibillion-dollar environmental litigation told Texas' highest court Wednesday that Exxon must disclose privileged documents in order to evaluate the propriety of a settlement reached in the dispute.

Trade Exploration Corp., Bryan Wagner and others argued in a brief filed in Texas Supreme Court that they are entitled to review memoranda prepared by Exxon's lawyers to determine whether an eight figure settlement for which Exxon is demanding reimbursement was reached in good faith....
