ITC Probes Transatlantic Trade Pact's Impact On US

Law360, New York (April 18, 2013, 6:00 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission announced Thursday it has launched an investigation into how the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement between the U.S. and the European Union will impact the domestic economy.

The commission, which launched the probe in response to a March 26 request from acting U.S. Trade Representative Demetrios Marantis, will be attempting to gauge how allowing duty-free imports to flow into the country from the European Union’s 27 member states would affect U.S. companies that produce competing goods.
