Silver Lake Closes Record-Setting $10.3B Tech PE Fund

Law360, Los Angeles (April 18, 2013, 8:02 PM EDT) -- Silver Lake Partners LLC, which recently bought Dell Inc. for $24.4 billion, has pulled in a whopping $10.3 billion through what it called the biggest moneymaking technology investment-focused private equity fund of all time, it announced Thursday.

The fund's $10.3 billion close surpassed the $7.5 billion fundraising target set by tech-focused Silver Lake, which partnered with Dell CEO and founder Michael Dell in a leveraged buyout of Dell in February.
