O2 Micro Seeks To Separate Antitrust, Patent Issues

Law360, New York (January 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- O2 Micro International Ltd. is looking to split off the antitrust counterclaims from a lawsuit in which it accuses Rohm Co. Ltd. of infringing three patents related to liquid crystal display backlighting technology.

In court documents filed Monday with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, O2 Micro said that bifurcating the antitrust counterclaims would simplify the case for a jury and promote judicial economy.
