FTC Head, Senator Turn Up Heat On Do-Not-Track

Law360, New York (April 19, 2013, 8:12 PM EDT) -- Federal Trade Commission Chairman Edith Ramirez and Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., on Wednesday put pressure on online advertisers and browser makers to finalize a global online tracking standard, saying that the self-regulatory process has made too little progress and was moving too slowly.

In a speech before the American Advertising Foundation, Ramirez said that the implementation of an “effective and functioning do-not-track system … is now long overdue."
