Pfizer Sues Inventia Over Generic Bladder-Control Drug

Law360, New York (April 22, 2013, 12:15 PM EDT) -- Pfizer Inc. on Friday hit Inventia Healthcare Private Ltd. with a suit in Illinois federal court, accusing its rival of infringing on its patents for extended-release bladder-control treatment Detrol LA with a planned generic version of the drug.

Inventia's abbreviated new drug application for 2- and 4-milligram strength tolterodine tartrate extended-release capsules infringes on two patents for the drug held by Pfizer units Pfizer Health AB and Pharmacia & Upjohn Co. LLC, according to the suit.
