AT&T Avoids Supreme Court Review Of U-Verse Class Action

Law360, New York (April 22, 2013, 4:59 PM EDT) -- AT&T Inc.'s successful dismissal of a proposed class action accusing it of fraud in connection with its allegedly defective U-verse phone, Internet and television service will stand after the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear the case.

The high court was unconvinced by the arguments of four named plaintiffs who claimed they were denied a fair jury trial when the Tenth Circuit affirmed a lower court dismissal on the grounds that the putative class' claims over the purported failings of the technology system were subject to a contractual arbitration clause.
