McVay Wins Democratic Primary For Pa. Superior Court Slot

Law360, Philadelphia (May 22, 2013, 12:13 PM EDT) -- Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jack McVay Jr. defeated Philadelphia Municipal Court Judge Joseph Waters to earn the Democratic nomination for an open slot on the Pennsylvania Superior Court, in the sole contested statewide race in Tuesday’s primary election.

Bidding to replace Judge John Musmanno, who assumed senior status at the end of 2012 after reaching the mandatory judicial retirement age of 70, Judge McVay will face off in November against Dilworth Paxson LLP partner Vic Stabile. Stabile ran unopposed for the Republican nomination....
